Hi Wendy
I have the aforementioned problem.
Information technology seems to be some clever trick that Samsung have included to effort and reduce ambience dissonance on incoming calls, and have basically made it and so that on incoming calls the speaker is on very quietly, which makes a loop and causes an echo for the caller.
When you accept answered the telephone call, if yous printing the menu button, and press "noise reduction off" if will set up the echo trouble for that call. unfortunately i oasis't figured out a way to plow it off permanently nonetheless!

I finnaly found that the trouble became from the extra shell case i used.
then avoid any extra vanquish instance to make a test.
That'due south the solution a found whith mine. I think that the extra case (not a samsumg example) genarate echo because of the 2 microphones on the top and the bottom, I don't know why only I retrieve that the example act like a echo box.

something you tin can try.
one) make sure the carrier accept the hardware you're using is registered to you and not your erstwhile phone.
2) use a headset w/ mic and make a call to see if at that place's an repeat.
-if this is aye, information technology could be your carrier tower OR your hardware
- if no, then information technology'due south your hardware.
3) use a speaker phone and encounter if there'due south an repeat.
-if this is aye, information technology could be your carrier tower OR your hardware
- if no, then it's your hardware.
if the problem even so keep up, or been stock-still, let u.s.a. know! ^_^

This is a problem with nigh phones. Just pick whatsoever manufacturer and blazon their name in google and and so put "echo trouble" after it, without the quotes. Yous will run across tons of phones have the same trouble.
The problem is they use the telephone case as a type of speaker box. They permit the back of the speaker to "breath" into the example and then that information technology tin produce bass. That makes the speaker sound meliorate and easier to understand people talking.
If yous have a racket cancellation mic at the peak of the telephone, yous can unremarkably put a piece of tape over it and that will help.
A better fix is to take the screws out of the dorsum of the phone (if you are brave) and putt something like a piece of closed-cell foam near the bottom of the telephone where the regular mic is. The thought is to keep the audio from the speaker from traveling into the regular mic. If yous put the foam too close to the speaker, the callers will be a picayune hard to sympathise because their voice will have no bass and information technology will make the phone sound actually cheap.
But it is a lot easier to put the tape over the top microphone. ;-)

I have a brand new S5 neo giving me the aforementioned problem. The only way I could go rid of the echo on the other end was to plough on the speaker phone, or plug in a headset. I tried simply about everything, even Samsung'southward technical services without much luck, other than sending it downwards east for an evaluation. I never could find a racket reduction option on my phone setup, but, I did have a "hearing aid" help matter which I turned off .... miraculously, information technology worked and all is well. I figured information technology would be something elementary and it was. Adept luck.

This has to do with your cell phone provider, the location of the jail cell tower, where you are located in relation to the jail cell towers, and objects in the mode that block or reflect the betoken. Attempt going to a different room in your firm or to a different spot outside. If the people your talking to still hear a echo, so y'all gotta switch carriers if you lot absolutely love your cell phone.
Alternatively, you can read reviews of all-time cell phones with no repeat and switch phones if y'all absolutely love your carrier.

Most likely its the condom coating over the mic located inside the case on the bottom of the phone obviously.
Open up upwards your telephone and make sure to push the prophylactic in deep in to the example. At that place's a small hole in the rubber and in the dorsum casing and they should marshal perfectly. When the phone is assembled you should not exist seeing any of the rubber from the mic hole.

Callers to my Galaxy II get the echo. But later on answering tap the bottom left carte; so put racket reduction to off. This works, but doesn't always stay off with future calls. My sales person clued me in on the solution fix...said it happens when a protector instance is used, just oasis't tried receiving a telephone call with it off yet to see. I don't like to carry it in my pocket with no protection even if that works.

I am having the same trouble with the international version of the S4 active. As with lots of others the problem does not exist with the backcover removed or when using phonespeaker or headset.
But I as well found that there is also no echo, when just removing the microSD carte and putting back on the cover and not using phonespeaker or headset.
It seems, that in that location is some kind of electrical interference as long as the SD is installed or some kind of incompatibility with SD cards? I only found this, hence did not try yet with diffeent vendors from SD cards or putting a "dummy" in it, just to run across, if the issue also exists, if there is no actual electrical contact.
I too heard from other unoffical sources, that Samsung is planning to get this stock-still with a new firmware?
Cheers,
Timo

ECHO ON PHONE
E'er since contracting into my Acer Liquid 3 phone, I have repeat bug. First of all I cannot get a network signal where I live, but I am able to use the phone as I have WiFi at home. Even so when using the WiFi there is an echo which only the person who receives my call hears (I don't hear information technology). Incidentally when using the network away from the house calls do not incur echos, then the trouble is only when in a WiFi expanse. Later on weeks of frustration and experimenting with all sorts of ways to rectify the situation (my network local shop stated they had never heard anyone have an repeat on their phone and I was unique!!!!!!) I have found that if I wear the earplugs supplied with the telephone or whatever other earplugs this actually works. The person to whom I am speaking does not hear an echo! I know it is not the ideal way to deport a telephone conversation but belief me I detect it wonderful that there is no echo, as do the people I am speaking to, and also I did find information technology very hard to hear and this means people are speaking directly into your ear and the volume has greatly improved. When on Speakerphone the echo was unbearable, so I never use it. Don't need to as the earphones are groovy. I trust that this helps someone to solve their own problems. Worth a try anyway. Practiced Luck.

A few things yous tin effort to narrow in on the cause of the problem....
Turn your book down. The audio from the speaker in the earpiece sometimes makes it to the microphone thru the internals of the phone. Turning the book down volition tell you if this is the trouble. If it is, this is a possible prepare for information technology....http://youtu.be/FkcxzmCPFWw
Have the case off. Sometimes the sound from the speaker in the earpiece travels thru the case and reaches the microphone.
Plough off racket cancellation.
Proceed track of when information technology does and does non happen (after reboot, certain callers, 3g vs 4g, cell tower...)
Echo should not happen. Sometimes it is a physical problem with the phone. Sometimes it is a bug in the programming of the phone. If you can't resolve it and you wan't out of your contract, write a letter to the FCC. That speedily got me out of mine with T-mobile and 3 phones (all samsung S3) that had echo problems.
I had a friend on T-Mobile with an older S3 with the repeat trouble. I fixed information technology using this video....http://youtu.exist/FkcxzmCPFWw

And see where the mic is located..bith the chief as well as the secondary...as u find them..just try and suck the mics with a fleck of pressure level...it solved my problem..as my rubber cover was a bit loose frm inside..sucking it created a force per unit area of air..which pulled the embrace more inside..hence my echo problem was solved...without opening my mobile telephone...endeavour ur luck guys..

Is it occurs occasionally or all the time? Maybe your phone has a weak betoken, when you answer the phone. You can endeavour to reboot your phone, or move to a identify which has a stiff signal. If information technology still doesn't piece of work, peradventure something with the mic or antenna. Yous should check information technology carefully.

I experience foolish ... after having tried everything, merely really everything believable but could not use WhatsApp, Viber etc. when using the Speaker phone. Normal telephone calls were ok.
I finally looked for the minor mike hole on top - later on all, many of you recommend to cover it with a minor piece of plastic - and and so found that I had not properly removed the protective (near invisible) plastic embrace that the supplier had placed there to protect earlier shipment...
I removed information technology and now accept a S4 the way Samsung designed information technology. Works perfectly. For the outset fourth dimension in a long time!
